You only supply the first high tide. Every following high tide is derived by adding the M2 lunar cycle, 12.42 hours, repeatedly. Low water sits roughly halfway between two highs (about 6 h 12 min after a high). This is a good planning rhythm, but real tides shift ~45 minutes later each day and vary with local geography — always re-check the official table before each morning.
For tidepooling, sandbar crossings, photography and picking your way over rocks, low water is the window. The cards suggest arriving about 1.5 h before low and leaving 1.5 h after — before the rising tide cuts you off. For hiking, the rule is reversed: stay off exposed low ground as the tide climbs.
Each activity carries a short packing note and a safety reminder drawn from common coastal incidents: tides that rise faster than expected, wet rock that is slippery, wind that springs up in the afternoon, and sun that you forget about between waves.
